Robot Escape

Ah, Robot Escape, my first taste of game developing in a group with specialized roles. Team Mannateam was comprised of three members, all designers, who created their own level segment of Robot Escape, then applied their role to the overarching game. I, your lovely guide, was the team’s sole artist.

After completing the whitebox, I was in charge of curating assets to match our desired aesthetic and then populating the environments according to my team member’s specifications. Other miscellaneous tasks that fell to me included: particle effects, basic animations, etc.

Development Pipeline

As with most things, we first sat down to create a simple one page design document to collectively define our game idea.

Then came creating and assembling our top-down layouts, followed quickly by whiteboxing. The red and green markings representing enemies/obstacles and objectives, respectively.
